Welcome to Claymakers!

Claymakers is an arts community dedicated to pottery and the clay arts. The only ceramics center of its kind in the Triangle, Claymakers brings together students, potters and clay artists from Durham, Hillsborough, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Pittsboro, and the surrounding areas.

We are located in the rapidly developing Central Park section of Downtown Durham, close to the Farmers' Market and the Durham Athletic Park.

With Classes and Workshops for everyone from novice to professional, Claymakers seeks to support individuals in developing skills and finding creative expression in clay. A regular offering of pottery wheel throwing, hand building, and sculpture classes is complemented by special topics courses, which change throughout the year. Claymakers Gallery shows and sells the work of many of the region's finest potters and clay artists. Claymakers Supplies sells materials needed for ceramic arts, including an assortment of clays, chemicals, commercial glazes, tools and refractory materials.

An active and vibrant arts center, Claymakers Studio offers Open Studio Hours for students, Community Studio Rentals and Kiln Rentals for the public, and individual artist studio spaces.

An integral part of the Durham Arts scene, Claymakers embodies North Carolina's rich ceramics history and on-going national leadership in pottery and ceramic arts
